Who am I?
I am a disease ecologist and conservationist, passionate about understanding how emerging infectious diseases and climate change drive population decline events, even in seemingly pristine environments.
My work blends science, conservation, and community engagement. I collaborate with local partners to conduct research that informs targeted conservation programs, while also mentoring students, especially those who might not always see themselves represented in science.
Want to get inspired by stories of resistance, conservation, and justice?
If you’re curious about how women are fighting for land, climate, and community, these are the books I’m reading right now:
This book will give you data you didn't know you needed! It changed the way I see the current climate crisis; it's really eye-opening!
This books begins with Nemonte’s childhood in the Ecuadorian Amazon, deep in her Waorani community, where first contact with oil infrastructure unfolds as a shocking and transformative moment.
Nemonte shows us why it’s critical to listen to Indigenous communities, not because they need to be “saved,” but because they’ve been stewards of the land for generations.
Advancing conservation through science, curiosity, and action
